Satan does not want godly fathers. Hide Word in heart to help them meditate when attacks happen. Approval is based on position, not performance. Ephesian 2 contrast old and new identity. Negative is describing old identity. Verse 4 talks about new identity. It is not my works, but God's work is our new identity. Why do we still struggle? We might feel there is something wrong with this constant struggle. Some saved people feel torn between old and new. Change your mind who you think you are. Give it all to God. Present your body to him. God wants us to make one decision and that is to follow him. As a Christian we are holding on to the old man. We need to let go of the old man. Stop defining myself by my sin. Deliverance has been provided by God, but have I accepted it? Stop living as Christians in the flesh. Choose to respond his way. Have faith that you can live like Christ. Keep your eye on the truth and do not operate on feelings or past experiences. Keep your eyes on the facts.

Possession is both in physical and spiritual. That is why saved person cannot be possessed. Christ lives in us. Your soul and heart and mind used interchangeable, that is our personality. Satan loves to give people labels so it becomes our identity. This will make you think you can be nothing more. Who I am is in my spirit that has been established. Firmly believe that God is true. Counseling is Discipleship. Motivation of change is act of God. God is bigger than their stuff, it is whether they are willing to yield to the Lord. Issues are fiery darts, don't get caught up with those. They are a distraction from the real issue in Counseling. Focus on spiritual issues. God will deal with those once spirit is right. Read Our Fathers. Satan knows you by name, but calls you by your sin. Focus on God not Satan. Teach about specific prayer. Teach what prayer is. Do not take up requests of prayer. They read prayer requests. Start private prayer and then group prayer. Public prayer is for God's power for Pastor. Listening is lost art of prayer.

Moses was the first person to have a ministry beyond his family.
His culture was different.
His upbringing was different.

We can forget that church culture/ministry is not everyone’s life and culture. We can put undue pressure on people when we forget that they work full-time jobs, and adding church activities can be a strain on their time and family.

Most of our ministry problems are personal problems that we’re not dealing with well.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. — Proverbs 25:28

MOSES

Exodus 5 — He slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

The first thing we learn about Moses is that he was very hasty and that he dealt with injustice in the wrong way.
Haste creates a lot of bad behavior. As a leader, we have to make swift decisions, but we’re often misguided about how quickly those decisions actually need to be made. We need to learn that it’s okay to wait.
Instead of making decisions, spend time in prayer, study the issue out in the Bible, and spend some time thinking about the problem, the people, and the consequences.
HASTE
Haste to Get Results
Get-rich-quick schemes / “How to Build a Megachurch in 3 Months”
Where there’s haste, there’s compromise.
An overworked, overprogrammed church can result. Activity replaces worship.
Haste Motivated by Anxiety
Allowing our anxiety to constantly push us into hasty decisions will cause us to become angry.
Anxiety is a problem-fixation issue. We become anxious to deal with the issue, and we end up causing more problems.
Haste Motivated by Anger and Frustration
Can cause sinful responses.
Principles Regarding Haste
Haste doesn’t have a plan; it simply reacts to emotions. If we start to run our ministry by our emotions, we’re going to have—and cause—so many problems.
Moses made a hasty decision and ended up killing the Egyptian. Then he scrambled to try to cover it up.
When we are hasty, we won’t be able to cover it up—it will be evident to everyone.
A leader needs to respond to problems, not react in our emotions. We must rule our own spirit.
It’s important not to react to every single problem in our homes. Giving grace is so needed in our homes. Our home is not the church.
We react to people because we are only thinking of ourselves and how we feel.
Saul had no rule over his own spirit. He was constantly making hasty decisions and reacting to different issues.

Position in Christ - day by day we will become like Christ. Positional truth - positional reality, future
Not everything written is reality today. Prophecy is history written from our perspective. God gives us things that deal with present and future. Present and future reality are not always aligned. Includes lost people as well. **Assignment idea: chart 2 column present and future position in Christ.
In God's view I am already perfect. God can make you holy. We may not always live up to it. I don't have to try. I just need to do my part to act what he wants me to be. If you are living in sin and God is not judging you, you are a bastard not a son of God. Faith is inheritance. Protection of God as long as we are in Will of God. God allows testing even when you are right with God. Ephesians 1 - positional truth. Spiritual warfare is to know all power is given unto me through authority from Christ. If you are going to put on armor start with your position in Christ. Spiritual warfare is not about our flesh, but our God and position. If you do not understand position you will act weak, but in him you will have boldness.
